kan — Korean architectural bay

In Korean architecture, kan is the bay or space between columns/posts. Its physical length depends on the building, so it is not one universal metre value.

Korea Tourism describes historic buildings by numbers of kan and sometimes gives the actual metre dimensions for that specific building.

Modern use is context-dependent and varies by region or measurement system.
